Fall Food Inspiration: Bread Sticks – Dark Chocolate Ganache (Nature’s Pride Bread)

It’s getting colder these days. I am thinking of eating something crispy and easy to dip on a hot coffee or cocoa. I’d like to try out this simple bread dessert recipe that I found at Nature’s Pride’s Foodbuzz Recipe Winners selection, called Bread Sticks – Dark Chocolate Ganache. I am one of the consumers of Nature’s Pride Bread and I can easily buy it at our local store. I’m glad to know that this recipe used one of their wide loaf variety which is the Healthy Multigrain Bread.

 

 

 

Here’s how to make this:

The Ingredients are:

2-3 Slices of Natures Pride Healthy Multigrain Bread or Bread of your Choice
4 tbsp Brown Butter
2-3 tbsp Brown Sugar
1 tbsp Pumpkin Spice
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Salt
The ingredients to make the Dark Chocolate Ganache are:
1 Cup Bittersweet Ghirardelli Chips (Bittersweet is the same as Dark Chocolate)
1/4 Cup Heavy Cream
The Directions to cook and bake are as follows:
1. Heat a pan over medium heat to make the browned butter. Place the sliced butter in the pan and whisk constantly until butter turns a golden color. Preheat oven to 375º degrees.
2. Lower heat to low and add the brown sugar, cinnamon, pumpkin spice and nutmeg. Whisk until well blended. Turn off heat. Place the bread and allow to soak up the buttery goodness. Flip bread over and using a spoon spread the spiced butter evenly on both sides.
3. Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and bake for 10 minutes. Then flip the bread over and bake for an additional 5 minutes. Allow the bread to cool and cut into strips.
4. Prepare the dark chocolate ganache. One can create a make shift double boiler by using a medium pot filled with water, a steamer basket and a metal bowl. Melt the dark chocolate chips over medium heat, stirring until completely melted. Add the heavy cream and stir well. Allow to cool. Then spread the ganache onto the bread sticks and allow to sit so the chocolate hardens a bit.
